The Calavera Hills Community Center and Park is a great facility just off Carlsbad Village Drive. It is a 21-acre park that has a giant playground, softball fields, basketball and tennis courts and a community center with many types of programs. It also hosts some of Carlsbad’s Free TGIF Summer Concerts in the Park.
All courts are first come, first serve (dad joke!), with the following exceptions as the courts are reserved for city-sponsored lessons:
Mondays 3:45 – 8:15 pm
Thursdays: 10 – 11:15 am
Closed for cleaning on Tuesdays: 12 – 2 pm
PLEASE NOTE: I found conflicting information on the signs posted at the tennis courts. When I called, they didn’t have any answers, so know these times may not be accurate.
This is the smaller of the two picnic areas and is near the parking lot & Softball Field 1.
